Lake Worth, FL – July 28, 2018 – The crowd cheered as the credits rolled at Foreel Recovery’s 2nd Annual Art of Recovery Film Festival on July 28th and 29th in Lake Worth, FL. The festival has been a labor of love for a group of guys who are passionate about recovery, since they recovered from addiction themselves. But it isn’t just a few men that make this festival possible. The entire community of Lake Worth comes together once a year to celebrate sobriety, art, music, and above all, God. Founders, Manny Mendez and Vic James are grateful to all who came out and participated in this event which raised $2500 for local addiction charities. Through their efforts to help struggling youth, Mendez enlisted the help of two local youth groups which were the reason for this year’s financial success.

A new addition to the programming this year was the awards ceremony. Awards were given in cinematography, visual arts, photography, and more.

Events like this don’t come easily as recovering addicts still fight the social stigma attached to sobriety. Luckily the event is held in the recovery capital of the world. With treatment centers in every corner and over 500 AA and NA meetings a day in Palm Beach County, recovering addicts are everywhere.

“It’s time we accept them for who they are now and not what they did in the past,” said Founder Manny Mendez.

Through the darkness surrounding treatment centers in the news this year, we really wanted to show the country that we are “recovery strong” and the treatment centers that participated understand the importance and therapeutic value of the arts. These centers understood our vision and approach and we are forever grateful to them. A special thanks goes out to Healthier Lake Worth, LULA, Justin Sims, Mark Sanchez, Isaac Rivera, Jarret Adamo, James Matthews, Jenny McBride and our Grand Sponsor Kleinman & Lessmann Personal Injury Trial Attorneys.
